I don’t know what’s going on but my run was relatively easy and enjoyable today. I am even beginning to shut my negative voice up! Yes I will get up that bloody hill goddamnit!

Didn’t really make much time to exercise today. Well we did spend about two hours walking around Tesco but I don’t think that counts. We bought some digital scales so that I can see exactly how much weight I am not losing!

I very nearly decided not to exercise today but James convinced me to do some weights on my arms (what is he trying to say??). I had cramps all day (everybody say ‘aw’) and didn’t feel remotely capable of going cycling like I had planned. I’m glad I did the weights though (and ten minutes on just the arms was actually pretty hard work) – every little bit counts!

A slightly different amount of running this week. It was hard at first but when I was finished, I felt like I could do more (not that I would!). Somehow I found myself eight minutes away from home when I had finished my session and I wasn’t pleased!

Woah… nearly gave in to the Sunday laziness for a minute there!! Didn’t exercise until 6pm. First week of exercising daily is over! I did it!
I’m going to do a weekly weigh-in starting tomorrow but I’m pretty sure I haven’t lost any weight this week. Pooh. I will later though I’m sure (bloody better had). I’m impressed though that already I have started to feel better physically. I feel more limber and relaxed. I had forgotten how it felt - I used to feel this way all the time when I was fit before and it was so great. Grrrr… why did I stop exercising?!
Daily Exercise Log
How good am I? I’ve started running again! (For the third time.) I’m using a ten week running programme from a book called ‘Running Made Easy’ which I’ve owned for about two years. As you can see above, it’s really manageable and is mostly walking at the moment. It’s tempting to push yourself further because it feels too easy but the book urges you not to so that you can build up really slowly. By the end of the ten weeks, I should be able to run/walk for 40 mins which is the equivalent to a 5k race.
I also did some toning when I got home after running. I pretty much enjoy all toning (sit-ups, squats, etc) apart from push-ups, so I do other arm exercises instead. Push-ups would probably be ideal for me but I just hate them so I’m not going to make myself do them. Maybe when I have more strength I’ll give them a go.
Right now I feel really great. All my tension has gone and I feel relaxed. It’s lovely. Well, now I’m going to get on with some wallpaper stripping.
