Running Made EasyHow good am I? I’ve started running again! (For the third time.) I’m using a ten week running programme from a book called ‘Running Made Easy’ which I’ve owned for about two years. As you can see above, it’s really manageable and is mostly walking at the moment. It’s tempting to push yourself further because it feels too easy but the book urges you not to so that you can build up really slowly. By the end of the ten weeks, I should be able to run/walk for 40 mins which is the equivalent to a 5k race.

I also did some toning when I got home after running. I pretty much enjoy all toning (sit-ups, squats, etc) apart from push-ups, so I do other arm exercises instead. Push-ups would probably be ideal for me but I just hate them so I’m not going to make myself do them. Maybe when I have more strength I’ll give them a go.

Right now I feel really great. All my tension has gone and I feel relaxed. It’s lovely. Well, now I’m going to get on with some wallpaper stripping.

I thought maybe I should try doing a daily exercise log so that I can encourage myself to keep exercising. Then at the end of each week I could do a weekly weigh-in or something like that.

Today I decided to do one of my Pump It Up videos. I put on one of my old t-shirts that I used to wear when I exercised a couple of years ago, and I got the fright of my life when I saw how much it did not fit me. How shameful. I tried not to let it get me down. The only way to change how I look is to just get on with getting fit. I find it so hard not to just sulk about it.

The only bad thing about exercising today was that I decided to do it after lunch. So I had to have another shower in the middle of the day which was a real pain. Ideally I should exercise first thing in the morning before I’ve had a shower, but I have no willpower in the morning! Maybe I will just have to MAKE myself do it.
